WEDDING - BRIDAL SHOWER

bridal shower, wedding, bridal shower favor, bridal shower color, bridal shower decor, wedding decor, wedding favor, saratoga spring wedding, red flower for wedding, red wedding, red bridal shower, blogger bridal shower, blogger wedding, bridal shower fashion
Well, well, it is time to finally sit down and share all my wedding adventures with you guys. Let's start with my bridal shower! I didn't grow up in the U.S.A. and the concept of a bridal shower was totally new to me. I had no idea what a bridal shower was until I had one. My lovely mother-in-law and sisters-in-law hosted this whole beautiful event. When I walked into the venue at Longfellows hotel, I was completely shocked by everything they did for me. I couldn't stop saying "wow" when I saw all the details that filled the room with love. I spent a great time with all the wonderful guests, and I will never forget the day for the rest of my life.

WANTED DESIGN 2014

wanted design, design week 2014, furniture design
Hey guys! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted recently, I have been overwhelmed with my new job and the wedding plans. There are so many great things that have happened in NYC since summer began! NYC Design Week started in the middle of May and it has always been my favorite event of the year as a practicing designer. I saw a lot of old friends and professors from school, as well as seeing so many great designs from professionals that come from all around the world. Wanted Design is one of my favorite design shows during the week. There are a lot of independent designers, companies, and schools displaying new work in a unique and cool location. Here are some of my favorites:

BOUQUETS I LOVE

wedding inspirations, wedding bouquets, bridal bouquet, flower for the wedding
When it comes to making a decision for my wedding, I usually struggle for a while before I decide which way to go. It happened when I was looking for the venue and the dress. This week, I've been looking for a florist as well as trying to narrow down the style of flowers I like. There are so many beautiful designs out there and I just love all the beautiful flowers. It is really hard for me to pick one! However, I took some time to look through my Pinterest and picked out some of my favorites for inspirations. I love the simple and free style with some interesting details, and I want to keep all the colors really light but not all white, such as light pink, peach, and yellow. I can't wait to meet with my florist and start design my own bouquet!

HOME SWEET HOME

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry for the lack of post recently, my computer crashed in the beginning of April and I did a lot of work to bring it back to life. Meanwhile I just moved to NYC and I am looking for a full-time job in the design field. Park Slope is such a beautiful place to live, my fiancé and I are so happy that we made the decision to move here. Our apartment is also very sweet and it officially became our new HOME! We were running around the city looking for furniture and housewares during the past few weeks. We still have a lot of things to do to fill up our apartment, and today I will share some details of my new home that I really love.

HOME OFFICE IDEAS

home office design, home inspiration, work space

I've been seeking a layout inspiration for our NYC apartment rental for the past month. My fiancé and I want to make the living room into a studio working space because we are both designers and do a lot of work from home. An inspired and comfortable work space will be really helpful to create a great working atmosphere. The work space in the picture above uses three desks to create a long office table which is a great idea if you do not want to spend a lot of money for a long custom work table. Here are some other inspirations:

Lately I've been working on new designs for passport covers that will be sold on my Etsy shop. I really enjoy making small accessories using felt, canvas, and patterned cotton fabric that I love. I still have so many ideas that I haven't had a chance to create yet, but I'm glad I can share some of what I've done so far. I also started a new Instagram account @canvasjunecollection for my shop. I think it is a great way to stay connected with the world and archive my photos for all my design collections.

THE LOVE OF COPPER

copper color, copper products, copper housewares, copper candle holder, copper fruit bool, copper jewelry, product design with copper, finished in copper, fashion blog, lifestyle blog, home decoration, home wish list

I can't remember when or where I first started to become obsessed with products finished in a copper color. I love how this color brings a little fancy or vintage quality to the product, especially housewares. After plenty of time preparing online research, I found some of my favorite products that are finished in copper that are now on the market. Other than the products that I found, the first thing that pops into my mind when I think about copper are mugs and vases. I think that I could totally DIY them by myself when I get a chance to play with some copper paint! Which ones are your favorites?

DIY HAND WARMERS

Remember my previous post titled, DIY Beanie? Here is another DIY that is made from an old sweater. I have been in the mood to up-cycle materials and discover different possibilities for old sweaters. It's been so much fun to make something new from something old and have a chance to use them right away. Hand warmers are especially great when you need all your fingers available on a cold day and don't want to trap your hands in mittens. I'm actually wearing them while typing right now! Hope everyone has a great start to your week!

VALENTINE'S DAY GITFS: CARD CASE

card case, card holder, valentines day, gifts, valentine, wallet, designer brand

I've been using a simple card case as a wallet for several years. They are light-weight, small, and easy for me to carry around and use. This is especially true when I carry a smaller purse or clutch for a night out, I obviously don't want my cards and money flying around. I also love the idea of having a longer wallet to keep more items in and a small card case to match with it. I always keep my necessary cards inside of a small cases that I can easily grab

DIY BEANIE

DIY beanies, DIY beanies with steps, DIY beanies from old sweaters, handmade beanies, pink beanies, how to make beanies from a old sweater, DIY winter hats, fashion blogger DIY
DIY handmade beanies, made from an old sweater, has been on my to-do list for quite some time. I was also craving a bright beanie for my wardrobe to help liven up some of my outfits. I finally got around to making one from a pink sweater yesterday. I'm so happy with how it came out and I can't wait to wear it with some of my outfits for photographs. It was super easy and only took me about 10 minutes to make. Here is how I did it:

plaid mittens, plaid scarf, plaid fabric, plaid mittens, diy with plaid, design with plaid, tartan scarf, tartan mittens

This plaid fabric shown, is a newly purchased material for my new mitten designs on my Etsy.com shop. I've been so obsessed with plaid patterns since early this fall and I've been wearing it a lot (see my posts here and here). Other than my clothes, I've recently been more interested in accessories and small items that have a plaid pattern like: cups, notebooks, scarfs, and gloves. I designed a pair of mittens for myself with this fabric yesterday and I love them so much. They will be in the shop soon! I would like to do something else with it too, so after a little research online here is what I discovered:

SIMPLE GIFT WRAP

The gift wrapping above is for my first order on Etsy. I have posted an article about gift wrapping in brown craft paper: 8 SIMPLE GIFT WRAPS USING CRAFT PAPER. I got a lot of inspiration from these amazing examples of wrapping paper. I used craft paper to wrap soft goods which helps to ship in a bubble envelop. I made an open wrapping for these mittens. It is really simple and came out nice. If you don't want the open wrapping, I'll suggest wrapping your item with a white tissue paper, then do the same type of wrapping around it. Here is how I did it:

8 AWESOME DIY PROJECTS I LOVE

handmade creations, favorite diy, handmade design, necklace diy, laptop case diy, diy tote, diy stool, diy coasters, diy calendar, diy flower pot, diy notebook

I've loved to make things ever since I was a little girl. I think I've learned a lot of great sewing skills just from making dresses for my dolls. When I first heard the word "DIY" long ago, I thought it meant just doing something creative for fun. But nowadays, DIY has become a much bigger, more complicated, and business driven word. There are a lot of interesting blog posts and videos that teach people how to do almost everything at home. As an industrial design student, I used a lot of shop power tools (including a table saw) at school to design products and make prototypes.

When it comes to earrings, I usually search for large shaped studs first. I just like a simple style and a little bit of shine on my ears to enhance my outfit.
