YELLOW SCARF

When I wear all black, I like to pair it with a bold accessory to brighten the outfit up. I carried a vivid blue backpack in this all black outfit while I was apple picking earlier this fall. In this outfit, I used a rich yellow scarf. The weather is getting colder in New York so I will share some outfit tips in next few weeks on how you can keep stylish and warm.

WARM UP THE FALL

I love the way that the colors red and camel appear when worn in one outfit. This combination of colors makes me feel like they can warm up the cold weather a little bit. A camel coat is definitely a must-have piece for every girl for this coming winter. This H&M camel coat has a perfect thickness that I can pair with a blouse on warmer days or a sweater on the cooler ones.

PLAID MEETS HEELS

I identify my style as "go comfortable" whenever you can. What I mean is that I love wearing flats and sneakers, I am really not a big fan of high heel shoes. I briefly changed my mind when I tied this plaid shirt around my waist with a white tee and black leather skirt. I instantly knew there was nothing better than a pair of high heels for this outfit. I paired my top and skirt with a pair of ankle heel boots, which are great for the fall, but could easily be switched out for a pair of sandals in warmer weather.

MAXI FLORAL DRESS

Wearing my maxi floral dress from ZARA, that I layered up with a graphic tee and denim jacket. I love this time of the year with all the leaves changing into a variety of colors, it's the best background for a photo-shoot.

This week was a busy week for me, I took outfit photos everyday for the Instagram challenge "21 days of layers" (Animal Prints and Graphic Tee). So I have so many outfits that I need to share on my blog. At the same time, I also have to write my thesis paper for my graduate school. I hope I can finish it by the end of the year. Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :)

SWEATER AND SHORTS

I love pairing long sleeve sweaters with shorts on a warmer day in the fall or a cooler day during the summer. I created more layers for this outfit by adding a black and white shirt underneath the sweater. This is the last outfit that I wore before I restyled the blue sweater into this jeweled sweater.

LAYERING WITH GRAPHIC TEE

I've been following my posting calendar for couple weeks and discovered some problem with the schedule. I couldn't post my own style so much since I only planed Mondays for outfits. So I will update the posting calendar with five different sections: Outfit, Design, Try It, Face to Face and Wish List. I am still looking for the best way to run my blog! :)

This outfit is also for the "21 days of layers" challenge. The topic is "Graphic Tee". I paired a graphic tee with checked shirt and leather vest. I also got my haircut that day because of this article about hair. My hair feels healthier right now!

FOREVER 21 INSTAGRAM CHALLENGE

Currently, there is a very interesting month long challenge on Instagram that was started by Forever 21, called "21 days of layers". I've been participating in this challenge since day 7 when I saw this contest posted on their blog. I was lucky to be selected as a winner of the day 8 outfit challenge called "Animal prints". Here are a few photos of the outfit that allowed me to win this prize! I feel so honored!

I think this contest has been a great place for outfit inspirations and has helped to get shoppers connected with their favorite brand on social media. I remember another challenge earlier this summer called "21 days of LA" that asked for participants to take part in a special task everyday. MAKEOVER MONDAY: LAYERING FOR THE FALL

Good morning! Here are the pictures from Manchester, Vermont from this past weekend. It was a cloudy day and a little bit cold, but the layers really kept me warm. That's the best thing about the fall: using colors, patterns, and layers! So many possibilities! I like to keep my outfit to under three colors. For this outfit I used white, blue, and pink. Hope everyone is having a great beginning to the week!

MAKEOVER MONDAY: MIXING PATTERNS

Lately I've been looking at so many great designs from the Milan and Pairs fashion week. I really like the pattern combinations that are not suppose to match in the same outfit. But the unexpected mixings of patterns causes some very interesting results. It makes the outfit more vivid and playful. So here is my take: A floral jumpsuit and a stripe shirt. I got this jumpsuit a couple years ago at H&M and I really love the pattern. I choose this off white shirt because the two colors (off white and black) can also be found in the colorful jumpsuit. Due to the comfort of the jumpsuit, it will be a good choice for a weekend picnic with friends or going into nature for some beautiful fall pictures!
