BEANIES AND SNEAKERS

When I need to go out and run errands, sneakers are always my first choice for footwear. A pair of sneakers is always easy to turn to for a sporty and casual look. The same idea goes for a beanie, they help to finish the entire look and bring the outfit a certain style by the use of a different texture. A beanie is also your best friend on a bad hair day. When I get the chance to wear beanies and sneakers together, I feel like I can throw on whatever clothes I like and still pull together a casual look, that's amazing!

RED PLAID

Introducing my new plaid shirt! I've been looking for a red plaid print for a while and then I saw this one at H&M. I really loved the length of it, I can wear it as a top or a dress. I can imagine a ton of different ways to wear it. Since the weather is not too cold yet, here is my first outfit using my shirt as outerwear. The secret to keeping myself warm is that I wear a gray cardigan (matching the shirt color) underneath it. Oh I almost forgot, the leopard earmuffs are also a new purchase, I really love to wear plaid with a little bit of a leopard print touch!

STRIPED SHIRT AND WOOL COAT

A striped print shirt is one of my favorite patterns ever since I saw the Coco Chanel movie. I can wear stripes all year round, especially a striped shirt. So when I want to show off my cotton striped shirt in the fall or winter, I pair it with a super warm coat. This combo keeps you both warm and stylish. It will be even more flattering if the black and white stripes are matched with a bright colored coat. I am craving a pink or blue coat for my wardrobe right now!

DOUBLE PLAID

Recently I've been obsessed with plaid, more than any other year before that I can remember (Like here and here). Instead of wearing one kind of plaid, I've decided to mix two of them together. So I took this lavender sweater and paired it with this classic plaid print purse from Burberry. I'm so glad I have pink sneakers to help me balance this look.

SWEATER SEASON

Fall is the perfect season for wearing sweaters as outwear before the weather gets too cold. I'm a big fan of oversized sweaters, not only because they are comfortable, but you can also wear them for many different styles. For this outfit, I paired my yellow sweater with a black and white checked shirt, skinny jeans, flats, and a leather backpack for a casual fall style. The outfit can easily be changed into a formal style with a pair of black heels and a blazer or a punk style with boots and a leather jacket.

ARMY GREEN WITH DENIM

Green and blue are my favorite color combinations recently, you can see what I mean from this outfit two weeks ago. I paired a green leopard cardigan with a denim jacket. For today's outfit, I just flipped the order into a denim shirt with a green army jacket. When I first purchased this utility jacket in late spring, I always paired it with black or gray. What a big waste! I can't wait to wear it with floral or stripes or almost everything! What's your favorite piece to pair with a utility jacket?

YELLOW SCARF

When I wear all black, I like to pair it with a bold accessory to brighten the outfit up. I carried a vivid blue backpack in this all black outfit while I was apple picking earlier this fall. In this outfit, I used a rich yellow scarf. The weather is getting colder in New York so I will share some outfit tips in next few weeks on how you can keep stylish and warm.

WISH LIST WEDNESDAY: ON TO OCTOBER

Here comes my favorite day of the week, "Wish List Wednesday"! I can't wait to share my fall wish list with everyone (I'm dying for these). The items I've selected can be worn together, or as single item that can go well with any other piece in your wardrobe.

1. Michael Kors 'Slim Runway' Bracelet Watch, $180. Since I've been seeing so many of Michael Kors' gold watches on people's wrists, this black vision just looks so simple and cool to me.

2. Sole Society Wool Panama Hat, $49.95. What would be better than a stylish hat with a warm appearance for the fall and winter? I love the brown belt band on top of the gray wool, it's so vintage.

3. Michael Kors large Selma top-zip satchel, $358. I want to say this is my favorite design in the current Michael Kors' collection. My reason? It's simple... and I love simplicity.

4. Chicwish Ivory Cable Knit Sweater, $48.37 (On Sale!). A cozy sweater with beautiful knit patterns. Wear it with a pair of leather pants for casual but polished look!

5. J. Crew Martie Ankel Boots, $275. I've been craving ankel boots since early summer and I think it is finally the time to go for a pair. I love the subtle buckle detail around the top rim.

6. H&M Imitation Leather Pants, $34.95. These are great because they are chic, warm, and most importantly they can make you look thinner!

MAKEOVER MONDAY: MIXING PATTERNS

Lately I've been looking at so many great designs from the Milan and Pairs fashion week. I really like the pattern combinations that are not suppose to match in the same outfit. But the unexpected mixings of patterns causes some very interesting results. It makes the outfit more vivid and playful. So here is my take: A floral jumpsuit and a stripe shirt. I got this jumpsuit a couple years ago at H&M and I really love the pattern. I choose this off white shirt because the two colors (off white and black) can also be found in the colorful jumpsuit. Due to the comfort of the jumpsuit, it will be a good choice for a weekend picnic with friends or going into nature for some beautiful fall pictures!
